Who this policy is from
This Privacy Policy explains how the Oryve iOS application ("Oryve," "the app," "we," "us") handles information. Oryve is published by Mohammed Rashid ("the developer"). It applies to the Oryve app and this website.
If you have any questions, contact us at myfikrapp@gmail.com.
Information we do not collect
Oryve is designed to work entirely on your device. We want to be unambiguous: we do not collect, receive, store on our systems, share, sell, or rent any of your personal information, because we have no systems that could receive it. Specifically, Oryve does not:
- require you to create an account or provide a name, email, or phone number;
- include any analytics, telemetry, usage tracking, or crash-reporting SDK that transmits your data;
- contain advertising or advertising identifiers;
- track you across other apps or websites — and because there is nothing to track, Oryve does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt;
- access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location;
- send any of your content to us or to any third party.
Information that stays on your device
To do its job, Oryve stores the things you create directly on your iPhone (in the app's private storage and a shared app-group container that lets its widgets and Screen Time helper read the same data). This information is never transmitted off your device by Oryve:
| What | Why it exists | Leaves device? |
|---|---|---|
| Your focus modes & the reasons you write | To block the apps you chose and show your own reason on the shield | No |
| Planned tasks & your daily plan | To show your day in the app and in widgets | No |
| Focus sessions, the cairn & the ledger | To show your history, streaks, and time reclaimed | No |
| App preferences & settings | To remember how you like Oryve set up | No |
Because this data is on your device, you are always in control of it. You can edit or delete any of it inside the app, and deleting Oryve removes all of it permanently.
Screen Time & app blocking
Oryve's blocking is built on Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls / Managed Settings) framework. When you choose which apps or websites to hold back, that choice is handled by Apple's system, not by us.
- Apple gives Oryve only opaque tokens for your selections — Oryve cannot read them as a human-readable list of the specific apps you picked.
- These selections are managed by iOS and never leave your device.
- Oryve uses this access solely to apply the blocks you set up — never to observe or report your activity.
Use of the Screen Time API also follows Apple's Privacy Policy.
Permissions Oryve may ask for
Screen Time authorization
Required so Oryve can block the apps and websites you choose. You can revoke it any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time.
Notifications
Optional. If you allow them, Oryve sends local notifications from your device — for example, a heads-up before a scheduled focus mode starts, or a gentle reminder. These are generated on your device; there is no push server and no notification data is sent to us. You can turn them off in iOS Settings → Notifications.
Widgets
Oryve's home-screen and Lock-Screen widgets, and its Control Center action, read from the same on-device storage described above. They do not make network requests and do not collect anything.
Third parties
Oryve does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics providers. No third party receives your data through Oryve.
Oryve is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your download, purchases (if any), and any TestFlight participation are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. Any aggregate statistics Apple may provide to us (such as anonymized download counts) come from Apple and do not identify you.
Data retention & deletion
We hold no copies of your data — there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Your data exists only on your device for as long as you keep it. To delete it:
- remove individual modes, tasks, or sessions inside the app; or
- delete the Oryve app, which permanently removes all of its data from your device.
Security
Your Oryve data is stored within the app's sandboxed storage and protected by your device's built-in security (such as your passcode and Apple's data protection). Because Oryve transmits nothing over a network, your content is never exposed in transit.
Children's privacy
Oryve is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included. Since Oryve collects no personal information at all, there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request access to or removal of from us.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA give you rights over your personal data — including access, correction, deletion, and portability — and the right not to have your data sold.
Oryve does not collect or process your personal data on any server, and we do not and will not sell your personal information. In practice you already exercise these rights directly: all your data is on your device, fully under your control, and removable at any time. If you believe we hold information about you and wish to make a request, email myfikrapp@gmail.com and we will respond.
International users
Because your data never leaves your device, Oryve does not transfer your personal data across borders or store it in any country.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Oryve handles data — for example, if a future version introduces optional cloud sync, in-app purchases, or any new capability — we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above before that version ships. Material changes will be made clear. Continued use of Oryve after an update means you accept the revised policy.
